The varied route takes you from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the idyllic Leutasch and back again via Ehrwald. Cross-border, enjoyable, and full of alpine moments 🇩🇪🤝🇦🇹. You will be accompanied by fantastic mountain scenery of the Wetterstein Mountains, spectacular gorges, and romantic alpine landscapes 🏞️. And the best part: Every day a new, spectacular view of the Zugspitze awaits you. For marveling, breathing deep, and falling in love 💙📸.
This hiking trip is an experience for connoisseurs: without large differences in altitude, with comfortable daily stages of 11 to 18 kilometers and a maximum walking time of five hours 🥾🕒. This leaves enough time to soak up nature and enjoy the famous Bavarian cosiness ("Gemütlichkeit"). Because what would a hike be without a rustic hut break? Whether it's a pretzel, "Obazda" (Bavarian cheese delicacy), and a cool beer 🍺🥨🧀 or a piece of apple strudel on the sun terrace ☀️🍰 – here, the snack tastes like pure alpine holiday bliss. Particularly impressive: the wild and romantic gorges ("Klammen"), where rushing water masses make you feel how alive this landscape is 🌊🪨. Arrival in Garmisch/Surroundings
The famous Olympic town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen beckons you to explore: discover the beautiful pedestrian zone, the traditionally painted houses, and cozy beer gardens.

Day 2
Garmisch – Mittenwald/Klais, „Partnach Gorge“
Wild and idyllic the day starts with a walk through Partnach gorge, where the waters of Wetterstein massif meet. Continue via soft hills and alpine pastures to Klais or Mittenwald.

Day 3
Mittenwald/Klais – Leutasch, „Leutasch valley"
Precise stone masonry cut the route through the gorge into steep rock walls. Bold wooden footbridges cross up to 40 m above the water. Enjoy the contrasting walk along Leutascher Ache into the valley. Past hamlets and flower meadows with the backdrop of Wetterstein massif you walk into the widening Leutasch valley.

Day 4
Day off or circular walk
You have the choice: either to relax or to take a walk to the lakes in and around Seefeld. Or you opt for an excursion on one of the Seefelder summits, either walking or taking the cable car. Return to Leutasch by coach.

Day 5
Leutasch – Ehrwald, „Nature paradise Gaistal"
Short bus ride into Gaistal valley. The summer in Gaistal is enjoyed by Haflinger horses, brown and grey cattle as well as the Scottish Galloways. Walk on Ganghofer path right into picturesque scenery and up to Ehrwalder alpine pasture. Here Bavarian author Ludwig Ganghofer sought retreat. Take the cable car down into the valley and continue to Ehrwald.

Day 6
Ehrwald – Garmisch/Surroundings
Step by Step you walk up to the foothills of Zugspitze and famous Eibsee scenic view. The tour ends on the banks of lovely lake Eibsee with full view of the magnificent Zugspitz-Garmisch panorama. Take the Zugspitz train back to Garmisch.
